In a celebrity boxing match on Friday night, Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, defeated Speed Darlington by technical knockout in the opening round.
The highly anticipated fight, called Chaos In The Ring, was organized by Game Rush and Balmoral Promotions and took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
Portable, who is well-known for his raucous energy and street songs, defeated Speed Darlington, another contentious performer, to claim the title of “Street King.”
The Nigerian Boxing Board of Control officially supported the event, and Rafiu Ladipo, the board’s chairman, attended Thursday’s final weigh-in.
Their feud began after Speed Darlington offered Portable a N500,000 performance fee — an offer Portable considered insulting, claiming he charges N20 million for a show.
The back-and-forth soon spilled over to social media , where both artistes traded insults until they agreed to settle their differences in the ring.
This win marks Portable’s second triumph in the boxing world after defeating actor and singer Charles Okocha in December 2023 in a four-round match at Landmark Beach, Lagos.
